If you are managing several websites or businesses, creating a new team(s) can be a helpful option. Creating a new team will help you organize your business according to your needs and you will receive all conversations separately for each team.
This is the main difference between group(s) and teams; whereas all messages sent to different groups will arrive at the same inbox (dashboard), multiple teams will allow you to completely separate your interactions (incoming messages) from different widgets and websites.
Teams vs. Groups Example
For example, if you have three clients (a hairdresser, a baker and a travel agency), you can create three groups (group H, group B and group T), invite different agents to those groups, connect these groups to chat channels (channel H, channel B and channel T) and generate a widget for each of those groups (widget H, widget B and widget T).
Agents will be able to see and respond to messages sent to their respective groups, while you as the account owner will be able to see all messages in one dashboard.
If you create different teams, all the messages will be completely separate and sent to different dashboards, and you will be able to switch teams in order to view and manage them.
